This week we went inside the AFL to find out how the organisation is preparing for the 2017 launch of the National Women's League. Josh Vandeloo is Head of Female Football & Junior Development at the AFL, responsible for the development of football pathways and the establishment the new competition. As a consequence, 2016 looks like being a very busy year!
Josh previously worked with the SANFL as State Auskick Manager before joining the AFL in 2007 as National Auskick Manager. In 2011 he became National Development Manager for the AFL, before his current role was announced in January 2016.
With bids in place for team licenses ready to be considered, a Women's Football Advisory Group in place and a league set to start in 2017, Josh and his team at the AFL have their work cut out for them.
